
The parishioners of all parishes of the Diocese are welcome to attend the various celebrations. As the Cathedral is the Church in the Dromore Diocese set aside by the Archbishop to gain a Plenary Indulgence, everyone is welcome to join in various celebrations.
5th April ~ Visiting speaker Martina Purdy and she will speak on the theme of Hope.
11th April ~ Service of Reconciliation – focusing on the Indulgence for the Jubilee Year of Hope and the theme of Reconciliation.
27th April ~ Celebration of Carlo Acutis becoming a Saint. Mass will be celebrated at 5.30pm in the Cathedral celebrating the fact that Carlo Acutis has become a Saint, a young man who lived his life in an extraordinary way. The new Saint will be someone to whom the youth can relate.
18th May ~ Family Mass, followed by the blessing of the Grotto in the Cathedral Garden and a Family Picnic. We express our gratitude to the family who donated this beautiful grotto and to the gardening committee who look after the garden so well.
22nd June ~ Corpus Christi Procession at 3.00pm. This year the procession will begin in St. Catherine’s Church and make its way to the Cathedral for the Benediction.
29th June ~ Mass Rock Commemoration at 3.00pm. The Mass Rock is in a beautiful setting in Ballyholland. It is in a secluded setting, giving an appreciation of the hardship our forbearers endured to attend their weekly Mass, risking their lives.
6th July ~ Mass for Our Communities Together – bringing together all communities in the Diocese at 7.30pm. We appreciate the different communities that make up our parish / Diocese and discuss and acknowledge the richness and diversity.
15th August ~ Procession on the Feast of the Assumption at 7.30pm. Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral, followed by a procession to the Grotto in the Cathedral Garden.
14th September ~ Retreat on the theme of Hope.
7th October ~ International Rosary – “The Rosary of Hope” at 7.30pm – the decades of the Rosary will be recited in various languages.
20th November – Special Mass for all bereaved people in the parish – an additional Mass for all bereaved persons. We acknowledge how difficult bereavement can be for people.
8th December ~ Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Mass for all those who work/serve in the Diocese at 7.30pm, showing appreciation for all the good work that is taking place, in the parish and in the Diocese.
